Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is a highly accurate system capable of reading vehicle number plates without human intervention.
This system can recognize the car plates at the entrances to the parking lots. An ANPR camera takes an image of a vehicle number plate; the image is passed to a reader, which locates the VRM and reads the letters and characters so that they can be identified using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.
Managers can improve the security of entry to offices, factories, etc., and assist in the application of road tolls. It is characterized by accuracy, the ability to detect numbers even at night or in the event of very dim lighting. It recognizes a large number of license plates and is much more efficient than conventional systems.
